DNV ACCREDIATION
In its continual pursuit to reach its goal of providing exceptional care to its patients in a safe environment, AVALA has been accredited by DNV Healthcare, Inc. This accreditation is important because it confirms that AVALA is meeting or exceeding Medicare and Medicaid’s standards to be a provider of healthcare services.
Compliance is reached through adherence to the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO) standards and the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.
ISO 9001 is recognized by corporations and businesses around the world as the benchmark for continual quality improvement. Innovative hospitals have begun to embrace ISO to identify and focus on the most successful approaches to patient care, billing, purchasing and other critical aspects of running a hospital. AVALA’s commitment to quality is exemplified by its compliance to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards which are the foundation of AVALA’s Quality Management System. Compliance to these standards guarantees AVALA is taking all necessary steps to provide safe and effective healthcare to patients. It also allows AVALA to receive reimbursement for its patients covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
The DNV NIAHO/ISO program focuses not simply on auditing the hospital’s business processes but on finding better ways for the facility to function. AVALA was the first hospital in Louisiana to achieve accreditation with DNV Healthcare, Inc.
Accreditation surveys are the vehicle, self-sustaining improvement and continual quality is the result.
