MRI Scan

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body. MRI does not involve X-rays or the use of ionizing radiation, which distinguishes it from CT or CAT scans.
MR Angiography

MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) is a specialized type of MRI exam used to obtain images of the arteries of the brain, carotid arteries, aorta, renal arteries and vessels of the extremities. MRA is used to detect problems with blood vessels that may be causing reduced blood flow.
MR Arthrogram

An MRI Arthrogram is an imaging study conducted to diagnose an issue within a joint. The exam is done in two parts and usually with the aid of a contrast agent called gadolinium that will help to highlight the visualization of joint structures and improve the MRI evaluation.
DTI

What is qDTI?
Quantitative DTI, or quantitative Diffusion Tensor Imaging, is an objective and particularly effective method for detecting nerve damage in the brain caused by concussions (mild Traumatic Brain Injury or mTBI) and some other conditions.

How does quantitative DTI work?
Quantitative DTI measures water molecules as they move along the brain’s nerve pathways. In the brain, nerve cells are called “axons” and water moves in a specific direction along these pathways. Diffusion Tensor Imaging is a method in which we measure how water moves along the nerves or what is called FA or fractional anisotropy. If a disruption in the water pathway is detected, we know that there is an injury or damage in that specific area of the brain.

Quantitative DTI testing can be performed using an MRI system with specific advanced neurological software and data processing capabilities. By using AVALA’s powerful 1.5T MRI machine, with the necessary software and professional expertise, radiologists segment brain DTI scans into 48 distinct regions to examine the white matter of the brain for detection of nerve damage.

Our CT scanner, the Phillips Diamond Select Brilliance 64-slice, provides high quality images, lower dose of radiation, and 3D images for robotic surgeries.

CT Angiography

Computed Tomography Angiography (also called CT angiography or CTA) is a computed tomography technique used to visualize arterial and venous vessels throughout the body. Using contrast injected into the blood vessels, images are created to look for blockages, aneurysms (dilations of walls), dissections (tearing of walls), and stenosis (narrowing of vessels).
CT Arthrogram

A CT Arthrogram is an imaging study conducted to diagnose an issue within a joint. The exam is done in two parts and usually with the aid of a contrast agent called gadolinium that will help to highlight the visualization of joint structures and improve the CT evaluation.
CT Myelogram

A myelogram examines the spinal canal. A special dye is injected into the spinal canal through a hollow needle. An x-ray and/or CT scan then records the images formed by the dye. Myelograms can show conditions affecting the spinal cord and nerves within the spinal canal.
CT Urography

CT Urography (CTU) is used as primary imaging techniques to evaluate patients with blood in the urine (hematuria), follow patients with prior history of cancers of the urinary collecting system and to identify abnormalities in patients with recurrent urinary tract infections.

Nuclear Medicine

Our nuclear medicine technology, Symbia Evo Excel identifies disease at its earliest stages. Nuclear Image Fusion is available with MRI or CT.

Nuclear SPECT

Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT, or less commonly, SPET) is a nuclear medicine tomographic imaging technique using gamma rays. It is very similar to conventional nuclear medicine planar imaging using a gamma camera (that is, scintigraphy). but is able to provide true 3D information. This information is typically presented as cross-sectional slices through the patient, but can be freely reformatted or manipulated as required.

Ultrasound

Our Ultrasound technology, the ACUSON Juniper, is a high performance system that provides high-resolution, fully focused imaging, quicker scan times, safer imaging with no radiation exposure.

Ultrasound (also called a sonogram) is a medical imaging exam that uses sound waves to create images. These images show the structure and movement of the body’s organs and blood flow.

X-Ray

Our X-ray technology, the Shimadzu RADspeed Pro, provides immediate imaging previews.

An X-ray is a non-invasive exam that provides valuable information to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves using a small dose of radiation to produce images of the inside of the body. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.

DEXA BONE DENSITY SCAN

A DEXA Scan is a simple test to determine bone density. It requires a quick 15-minute scan to check the bones for osteoporosis and the possibility of hip fracture in one’s lifetime.

In addition to this, it can also check for vertebral or compression fractures of the spine, as well as the total body composition for muscle assessment and weight management. Click here to learn more about how these scans benefit women.

DEXA BONE DENSITY SCAN

It is known that many women lose bone mass as they age, putting them at a higher risk for osteoporosis. It is recommended that these bone screenings are conducted starting at age 65. For women who have a family history of osteoporosis, it is suggested to complete one of these tests as early as 50 years of age.
