Covington, Louisiana – AVALA announces its newest cutting-edge technology, the Globus Medical Excelsius3D™, making AVALA one of four hospitals in the southeast to provide its communities with this advanced, intelligent imaging technology. AVALA continually works to demonstrate our continued commitment to innovation by providing the latest technology for surgical procedures.
Globus Medical’s 3-in-1 imaging platform, Excelsius3D™, is a versatile system that can be used for a variety of intraoperative imaging needs. It combines cone-beam CT, fluoroscopy, and digital radiography into one system, making it easy for surgeons to get the information they need to perform precise procedures during surgery.
Excelsius3D™ uses haptic-touch response and smart position memory to improve the performance of procedures, reduce errors, and automate tasks. These features work together to improve the accuracy and efficiency of spine surgery. Haptic-touch response helps surgeons to make precise movements, while smart position memory reduces the risk of errors. Together, these features can help to improve patient outcomes!
Excelsius3D™ is the only spine surgery system with AmpliField™ visualization technology, which captures more in a single image than ever before. This technology provides surgeons with a 50% larger field-of-view than the leading competitor, so they can see more of the surgical site and make more informed decisions.
Excelsius3D™’s gantry has two C-arms, one nested inside the other. These C-arms can rotate independently, allowing for a full 360° rotation of the gantry. This full rotation allows for better visualization of the surgical site and improved image quality in 3D, compared to other systems with a single C-arm.
Some additional benefits of the Excelsius3D™ gantry:
- Improved visualization: The full 360° rotation of the gantry and the high-resolution 2D and 3D images allow surgeons to see the entire surgical site in great detail.
- Improved accuracy: The improved visualization can help surgeons to plan and guide the procedure more accurately.
- Reduced risk of complications: The improved visualization and accuracy can help to reduce the risk of complications during surgery.
AVALA is excited to have this new advancement in technology!
