Covington, Louisiana – AVALA Hospital achieved a five-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for best hospital patient experience in the south. AVALA is one of only ten hospitals in Louisiana to earn this achievement.

AVALA is a physician-owned hospital, so they work to create a setting where patients are the priority. AVALA’s belief is that where there is trust, there is healing. AVALA’s goal is to create greater trust between their physician and patients – ultimately cultivating an environment where patient experience comes naturally.

The method utilized to select AVALA Hospital as one of the top hospitals for patient experience in the south, was derived from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems scores from CMS.

The HCAHPS summary star rating is the average of the star ratings of the 10-topic specific HCAHPS measures. The rating combines information about different aspects of patient experience of care to make it easier to compare hospitals.
