Covington, Louisiana – AVALA announces receipt of the Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Center of Excellence Designation from DNV. Now one of two hospitals in the nation with this designation, coupled with four advanced certifications affirms AVALA’s excellence in the provision of diagnostic services, surgical services, and therapies related to orthopedic and spine care. To achieve this designation, AVALA underwent a rigorous survey process that assessed its clinical and operational capabilities.
The DNV Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Center of Excellence Designation is obtained by achieving certification in at least three advanced programs. The DNV advanced orthopedic and spine requirements are informed by the guidelines and recommendations of organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the ERAS® Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and relevant requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals.
AVALA has successfully received all four available advanced certifications, making AVALA one of two hospitals in the nation to have all four certifications.
AVALA Orthopedic, Spine, and Neurosurgeons collectively perform over 3,500+ procedures each year, displaying their expertise in these service lines. Our surgeons take their work very seriously and aim to provide Louisiana with top orthopedic and spine care in a state-of-the-art facility that is equipped with the latest technology. AVALA is committed to first-class service and the best possible surgical outcomes for all patients beginning with conservative treatment options and providing patients with less invasive surgical procedures.
“Achieving designation shows a commitment to excellence,” says Kelly Proctor, President of DNV Healthcare USA Inc. “It helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”
To become 1 of 2 hospitals in the nation to become an Advanced Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence (COE) we had expert clinical leaders backing our efforts.
Meet Our COE Champions:
